Leidos currently has an opening for a Rotary Wing Mechanic supporting the Army National Guard (ANG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS) program in Gypsum, CO. Leidos is the prime contractor providing flight training, simulation training, classroom instruction and schoolhouse support activities including the One Army School System (OASS) integration, and Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) maintenance for platforms and simulation devices in use or anticipated to be in use by the Army National Guard.

Leidos is looking for experienced Army Rotary Wing Aircraft Mechanics to perform work on (UH-72) / Lakota Airbus Helicopter, (UH-60) Blackhawk Helicopters and (CH-47) Chinook Helicopters to join our team at the High-Altitude Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (HAATS) in Gypsum, CO. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting the ATSOS program.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)

  • Responsible for performing progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar scheduled inspections according to all applicable technical publications and regulations.

  • Responsible for repairs and maintenance on aircraft systems and subsystems, to include the lubrication of required components and the removal and installation of aircraft subsystems, using special tools and equipment as required.

  • Completes diagnostics and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft subsystems; maintains aircraft technical publications, historical forms, and records relative to aircraft maintenance.

  • Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.

  • Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation.

  • Read and understand mechanical manuals and schematics and read and interpret all instruments.

  • Complete all requirements IAW DCMA INST 8210-1C, AR 95-1, and the applicable dATM. 

  • Coordinate daily tasks and requirements (examples are work schedules, leaves, etc.) of contract employees to meet AATS missioned training requirements and schoolhouse accreditation as directed by AATS chains of command.

  • Responsible for compliance with appropriate Army, National Guard and AATS policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Report Instructor Flight and Operation data in the Task Order Monthly Report.

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) FAA certification required

  • Is required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable position.

  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 40 pounds.

  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products.  

  • IP experience at EAATS, HAATS, WAATS or U.S. Army Aviation Training Center.

  • Previous ACT-E qualification and sustainment training IAW TC 3-04.11.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
