What you will do              

We are offering a full-time permanent Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Level 6 for aspiring engineers. This is a genuine alternative to university for people who have a passion for engineering and who want to launch their career with us.

  

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Apprentice HVAC Engineer. An apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects.
  • As a HVAC Apprentice with us, you'll move into a hands-on, role working on a variety of HVAC equipment installed at our clients' facilities. This mobile role, based primarily in Cork and surrounding areas. This offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from our experienced engineers.
  • Your responsibilities will include everything from installing and servicing HVAC systems according to established processes and customer needs, to learning design, routine maintenance, reactive service, commissioning, and decommissioning of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Heat Pump systems.
  • You'll work closely with our valued clients to understand their specific maintenance needs, deliver top-notch customer service, and document all maintenance activities.
  • You will be enrolled in a level 6 apprenticeship in Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering, attending our training college on block release. You will also learn daily on the job with the support of your mentor and our dedicated training team every step of the way.
  • By the end of this apprenticeship, you'll emerge as a skilled HVAC Service Engineer, fully equipped with the technical competencies necessary to thrive in the field, all while enjoying the constant support from our existing team.
  • Our experienced HVAC Engineers started their careers as apprentices too! They're the perfect mentors to guide you through the apprenticeship.

Training and Qualifications:

  • You will be enrolled on a Level 6 Refrigeration & Heat Pump Technician qualification ran by our training partners Solas.
  • This apprenticeship is a 4-year program consisting of 7 phases. 4 on-the-job and 3 off-the-job in a training facility.

Career Progression:

  • Upon completion, a number of internal opportunities within the company will be available to you. All of our apprentices immediately move into full time permanent engineering positions.
  • Previous apprentices have become lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.

Qualifications Required:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of grade D in 5 subjects in the Junior Cycle or Leaving Cert exam including Maths and English.
  • Full Driving Licence is essential.

What happens next?

  • Suitable candidates will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position and provide necessary documentation. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre in May, assessment centres typically include a combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, and presentations.
  • Within 48 hours of the assessment centre, candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application.
