What you will do

Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Senior PCB Layout Designer! This individual will support product engineering and report to the PCB Layout Manager within Fire Detection R&D Westford MA. This is a hybrid position and employees are expected to be onsite 3 days per week.

How you will do it

Providing technical guidance in developing new PCB designs & supporting existing is a part of the daily tasks and responsibilities, as well as collaborating with EEs, MEs and Manufacturing in the development of PCB layouts while following engineering principles and guidelines, performing component placement, wire routing and job outputs.

What you will need
Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience designing PCBs

  • Practical knowledge of best practices for DFM (design for manufacturing)

  • Particular attention to details and solid organizational skills

  • Ability to report and convey technical information

  • Work in a team environment

  • Receptive to feedback

  • Effective Time Management

  • Proficiency of MSOffice (Excel)

Preferred

  • Skilled in using Altium Designer software

    • PCB Layout

      • Mixed technology, SMT and through-hole

      • Multi-layer

      • Defining and Managing Design Rules

      • High Speed Designs

        • Configuring and Controlling Route lengths

        • Matched Lengths

        • Differential Pairs

    • Library part creation (.DbLib)

      • Schematic Symbols

      • PCB Patterns

  •  Windchill experience
