The accuracy of loads is key in order to save time and money for the company so the load builder is an important component of the PARR team. This Full-Time position is also responsible for receiving and stocking inventory. As needed the Load Builder assists customer service employees in filling orders for walk in customers. The Load Builder directly reports to the Yard Manager. They interact daily with the Yard Inventory Specialist, Yard Supervisor, Customer Service Employees, Truck Drivers, and delivery persons.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent preferredOSHA Certified Forklift LicenseAbility to speak, write, and read English requiredKnowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices and protocolsKnowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materialsAbility to read and interpret "pick tickets" and invoicesAbility to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environmentClass C driver's license or reliable alternative transportationDuties and Responsibilities Builds safe and efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading "pick tickets" and invoicesReads SKUs and identifies material types to accurately build loadsLoad and off-load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forkliftCompletes inventory adjustmentsPuts stock awayTags loadsReceive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locationsOpens and closes yard as neededKeeps forklift cleanEnsures that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policyMaintain yard cleanliness during course of workKnows product substitutions, shares that knowledge, and always applies the knowledge to building the loadCross trains as backup driver, receiver, counter sales, and dispatcher if neededProactively seeks to learn products and applications for the end userRegularly attends product knowledge meetingsUnderstand weight limits and length limits for the company's fleet of trucks as to safely and lawfully load trucksWears proper high visibility and safety gearSafely operates equipment and always honks horn and looks before backing or rounding blind cornersPerform daily safety audits of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipmentParticipates in safety committee when necessaryReviews and completes Hold Harmless form with customersThe load builder primarily works outdoors in all weather conditions.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboardMust be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feetMust be able to work outdoors in all weather conditionsMust be able to drive a vehicle when necessaryBoth local and overnight travel may be requiredAbility to cover different shifts when necessaryWe know that without great people, we can't be a great company.
