Payroll Coordinator

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients.

We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator in our corporate Pittsburgh, PA location.

Hybrid schedules available for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process multi-state payroll on a semi-monthly and monthly basis.
  • Verify, reconcile, and confirm accuracy of payroll disbursements and payroll related changes post transmission.
  • Process manual checks and/or bonuses.
  • Process payroll changes from accounting, human resources, and employees in accordance with specified deadlines.
  • Respond to all inquires, both internal and external, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and upload payroll records and files to UKG system.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five (5+) or more years of professional accounting experience with a primary focus in payroll processing, preferably with a professional service firm(s).
  • Proficiency with automated payroll programs, preferably UKG.
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes and related filings and ability to interpret tax publications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to define problems and find a solution.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
