Description:

Texas Biomed is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Facilities department. The mechanic will assist the team performing routine maintenance work. You will utilize your skills to diagnose problems, repair/replace worn or defective parts on building systems, perform preventive maintenance on building systems, keep equipment clean and perform minor electrical and plumbing work and assist with minor remodeling work.


The Role
· Conducts regular inspection of equipment and facilities and either performs on-site repairs or reports trouble/outages to supervisor for decision on how to repair
· Makes minor repairs such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical as required. Electrical work is limited to repairs on 277 volt services and below as defined by the City of San Antonio Electrical Code, usually replacement of bulbs and/or ballasts
· Moves office furniture, lab equipment, mechanical equipment and helps install

· Performs minor troubleshooting and repairs of light vehicle fleet and small trailers; takes vehicles to commercial garage for repair


Our Ideal Candidate

Required:

· High school diploma or GED required

· One or more years of job specific experience to include building and electrical maintenance and vehicle mechanic work

· Must have working knowledge of computers and be able to follow work routines, rules, procedures; able to operate power tools

· Must have valid driver's license and meet Texas Biomed driving standards

· Full time hourly schedule with possible rotating 24/7 on-call emergency service, weekends and holidays

· Registered Maintenance Technician License is required by City of San Antonio (may be obtained during employment)

Preferred:

· Vocational training in any of the building or automotive trades

· Maintenance Electrician's License
