Normal Working Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm / Monday - Friday / As Needed

Position Summary

Responsible for the development, delivery and communication of programs, policies, practices, and training that create company-wide initiatives to build company culture and employee engagement. This position will be responsible for championing the Lean philosophy program and the Kyocera Philosophy program at the Company. The associate (employee) engagement program is a philosophy of management and as such the incumbent must be trusted by the associates and be able to communicate the results of the Company's efforts in a positive manner. This position supports a lean and safe working environment while focusing on continuous improvement, quality, and support of teamwork throughout the Company.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement a best-in-class associate (employee) engagement program, designed to foster a positive work environment and culture that promotes associate satisfaction and productivity.
  • Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster the organization's associate engagement and retention goals that build company culture.
  • Collaborate with others across the business to maximize employee engagement that supports the company's efforts to attract, retain, and develop a diverse and talented workforce.
  • Partner with associates and management to develop strategies for the best use of available resources by defining departmental needs and priorities, long range planning and goals & objectives.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention processes.
  • Support the Director of Training and Development in the implementation of the Lean program of the company. Assist with sponsoring teams and Kaizen activities to continuously improve the overall work environment, the systems in place and the strategies used.
  • Research evolving best practices and champions programs to promote the company's DEI initiatives. Implements and monitors progress and provides feedback on DEI initiatives.
  • Maintain and implement activities, events, and rewards and recognition programs to create a highly engaged culture in which associates feel valued.
  • Coordinate 30/60/90-day stay interview check-ins for new hires and provides feedback.
  • Administer and analyze engagement feedback surveys (employee satisfaction, exit interviews, departmental pulse checks) and collaborates with others throughout the company to determine best ways to incorporate the feedback into the company culture.
  • Collaborate with the HR team, to coordinate and implement Kyocera Philosophy training.
  • Authors and inspires newsletter articles and engages through social media accounts highlighting events, successes, and company culture.
  • Prepare reports to communicate survey results and employee engagement metrics.
  • Maintain active presence throughout the company to monitor and address associate concerns and suggestions, and to engage associates on a constant basis at all locations.
  • Collaborate throughout the company to identify opportunities for associates to grow within the company.
  • Participate on various boards and represent the Company at industry and community events.
Marginal / Less Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of various associate social activities.
  • Assist the human resources department in any way to establish and maintain Company as "Employer of Choice."

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or human resources preferred.
  • A lesser degree or high school diploma may be considered if the candidate possesses strong communication skills and manufacturing knowledge and has relevant training and or certifications in employee relations or human resources.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Required
  • Minimum two years of proven work experience in employee engagement or similar role.

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work on various shifts when needed and in various working environments and situations.
  • Ability to travel to other company locations, in and outside of the State of Ohio.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience conducting training and communications programs.
Preferred
  • Experience facilitating diverse workgroups and teams, and leading small and large groups through complex and critical thinking discussions.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or a combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing programs focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in leading and implementing projects.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

License Required

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet requirements set by
KSPT-G insurance carrier.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment utilizing personal computer, phone, and related office equipment. May sit or stand as needed. Constant use of upper extremities. Occasionally reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Frequent visits to manufacturing with exposure to hazards of noise, dust, oils, moving parts, etc. Infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Periodic visits to other facilities.
