Throughout all life's momentsfrom the extraordinary to the ordinary and everything in betweenEasterseals is here to help people and families realize and reach for their full potential.Essential Job Functions: Administers Occupational Therapy patient care programs as planned with and directed by OTR. Receives direct OTR supervision for 10% of treatment time. a. Assists the OTR when performing tests, evaluations and/or complex treatment procedures, whenever necessary. b. Follows established departmental procedures and observes safety precautions during treatment implementation c. Confers on a daily basis or as deemed necessary with the supervising OTR in order to progress the patient's program effectively. Promotes total rehabilitation services and acts as a team member to treatment plan. Documents the patient's progress in the patient's medical record and maintain the charts in accordance with departmental protocol. Provides a written and/or illustrated home exercise program when appropriate. Attends and participates in departmental staff and team meetings, in-service programs and continuing education. Maintains accurate records of patient treatment and equipment charges and submit required statistical and billing information. Write formal progress and/or discharge summary notes (co-signed by OTR) to physician on a timely basis. Communicates regularly with physicians and other Allied Health professionals in an effort to provide maximal patient care. Participate in departmental program development and take responsibility for special clinics and programs as assigned. Assist in the maintenance and organization of the work area and equipment noting safety and serviceable defects. Education and Experience: Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from a school approved by the AOTA and AMA Registered or eligible for registry by the AOTA Current license by the State Board of Registration in Medicine CPR certified or eligibility for certification Valid driver's license and reliable transportation QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
