Kinsley Power Systems is seeking a Parts Researcher to join their growing team! The Parts Researcher is responsible for analyzing quotes from field technicians and determining parts requirements. Duties also include sourcing, procuring, and tracking of parts through all processes to guarantee technicians obtain the correct parts within set time frames and within pricing guidelines to ensure maximum profitability. High attention to detail as well as a working knowledge of automotive and electrical systems are essential.

Parts Researcher Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors service quote log for assigned branch or branches, prioritize quotes based on end-user impact and perform necessary action to process T&M quotes
  • Manages part research process to include but not limited to researching part compatibility, pricing/availability, and purchasing
  • Responsible for transporting parts and equipment to field personnel/remote locations
  • Serves as backup to the branch Parts Coordinator
  • Utilizes computer system to finalize price quotes and process new work orders for all branches
  • Supports technicians in the field with parts lookups, part compatibility and quotes
  • Ensures each technician receives the proper parts to ensure successful first-time repair of equipment
  • Works with employees and customers to provide accurate part quotes for potential sales in a timely manner
  • Manages supplier relationships and actively seeks new suppliers when appropriate
  • Assists in establishing competitive pricing guidelines to ensure sufficient profit margins

Preferred Parts Researcher Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus two+ years related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Computer experience, with Microsoft Dynamics GP experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Mechanical inclination; diesel and gas engines knowledge preferred
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to follow through; uses time efficiently and is detailed-oriented
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and security
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
