We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Corporate Certified Dealer Instructor (CDI) position!

Here is some of what you’ll do…

POSITION SUMMARY:

Corporate Certified Dealer Instructor (CDI) – is responsible for conducting machine demonstrations company-wide which includes instruction in proper use and functionality, developing and teaching machine training courses for our customer base, equipping sales staff with the knowledge of key features and benefits regarding machine use and functionality, delivering customer site assessments which identifies cost savings and profit improvement for our customer base.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Demonstrate the features of Caterpillar products to our customers to ensure they understand how to maximize capability of the products in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Conduct formal certified training courses for customer base that meet Hawthorne and Caterpillar standards.
  3. Identify business opportunities to sell and train customer operators to be Caterpillar Certified.
  4. Ensure sales staff understands machine functionality and best practice operating techniques to enhance their sales efforts.
  5. Work with the rental department to train rental sales representatives and dispatchers on the proper use of Caterpillar equipment in the rental fleet.
  6. Maintain current professional and technical knowledge by attending educational Caterpillar workshops and reviewing publications.
  7. Demonstrate the benefits of the rightly applied use of machine control and guidance systems, and other Caterpillar machine technologies.
  8. Collaborate with SiTech to train customers on related machine on-board and off-board technologies.
  9. Travel to customer job sites for training within the dealer territory, and attend necessary Caterpillar and other OEM training sessions.
  10. Conduct other machine related training and business as determined by management.


Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Must have 10 years minimum experience in sales within the earthmoving industry.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  3. Proactive and good communication skills.
  4. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
  5. Must be organized and a good planner.
  6. Ability to set and meet goals.
  7. Experience with Microsoft Office.
  8. Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.
  2. Handling: Seizes, helps or works with hands.
  3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous items up to 30 lbs.
  4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
  5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
  6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
  7. Vision: Read computer and paperwork.
  8. Talking: Communications by phone and in person.
  9. Sitting: Sits at desk. Sits for long periods of time.
  10. Climbing: Climb on and off earthmoving machines.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

  1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
  2. Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment and also travels to job sites.
