Currently, we are looking for a highly motivated IT infrastructure-focused program manager who has experience leading complex IT infrastructure deployments across multiple locations. Project duration ranges from months to multiple years and aligns with major campus initiatives and major building construction and renovation work on the campus.

Network services program manager will be responsible for tactical & strategic view of all Network services project planning, scheduling & carrying out specific activities to drive a program forward. Additionally, you will also take responsibility for managing the logistics of network services.

You will be the main point of contact for the Office of Information Technology and work closely with our colleagues in the Office of the Vice President for Facilities (University Architects, Capital Projects, and Facilities Operations). You will also work with external design and construction professionals in various and concurrent new building planning and construction, major building renovations, and other maintenance projects.



Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for timely and cost-effective delivery of all phases of campus IT infrastructure deployments for capital projects, renovations, and major IT maintenance, including project justification, requirements definition, funding, programming, team sourcing and structure, budgeting, scheduling, IT design development, bid leveling, value engineering, IT-related construction administration, IT materials procurement and installation, IT services commissioning, and IT infrastructure relocations
  • Act as the OIT liaison for all phases of construction and renovation projects
  • Lead and mentor colleagues involved in IT infrastructure deployments (e.g., assistant project managers, assist other stake holders during various phases of projects, etc.)
  • Lead and coordinate between OIT project teams consisting of network engineers, operators, contracted staff, external professional services providers and collaborate with colleagues across OIT (for example, EIS, SMO, and O&P),
  • Develop and manage project schedules using project planning tools, such as MS Project
  • Understand and interpret construction documents
  • Prepare regular project updates and report to management
  • Coordinate with on-site construction, engineering, and University facilities staff
  • Manage all phases of the project or program including strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, initiation, procurement, successful execution, and closeout phases of the project
  • Responsible for all supply chain management duties, including the movement, distribution, and storage of supplies and materials for Network services.
  • Prepare and author consultant and contractor RFI and RFP material
  • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee and prepare accurate project documentation for all phases of the project
  • Track and submit invoices and other financial commitments, exposures and obligations
  • Advocate on behalf of Princeton University during disputes, disagreements, modifications or change orders with vendors
  • Maintain relationships with the wider IT infrastructure deployment specialists and related construction partners, trade associates, vendors, and professional organizations


Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project and/or program management
  • Commercial infrastructure and MEP construction project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program/project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Technical understanding of MEP, critical environments, fire and life safety, security, and sustainability
  • Demonstrated skill in successfully managing infrastructure projects ranging between $100k and $7M
  • Ability to independently collaborate with or manage teams of consultants and contractors to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Expertise in MS Project
  • ITIL foundation training
  • Expertise in MS Office applications (MS Word, MS XLS, MS PPT)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of related work experience

  • PMP certification
