    1st Shift - standard hours 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

    $20.09/hr.



    Summary

    Works with close, direct supervision to learn how to effectively lay out work, set up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed assembly demands and customer requirements, per design specifications and published schedules. Efficiently utilizes resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


    -Adhering to all published Company guidelines and procedures, including I.S.O. and safety guidelines and procedures.

    -Learning to successfully perform the following job requirements under close supervision:


    Read and interpret blueprints.

    Set up and operate power tools and equipment such as band saw, tack welder, stud weld, manual hand brake, drill, grinder, etc.

    Handle and work with different types of material, such as felt insulation, ceramic, graphite, carbon fiber, molybdenum, stainless steel, carbon steel, etc.

    Plan layout, parts positioning, component fit-up, assembly sequence and equipment necessary to complete job.

    Work from blueprints to build various types of Hot Zone assemblies, including installation of shield packages and insulation; as well as ensuring proper fit of ceramic and graphite parts or other parts specified by engineering.

    Work from blueprints to cut and install insulation, using required tooling and protective safety devices.

    Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.

    Document work process, issues, and usage of material or excess material/parts.

    Load and unload trucks in a timely manner.

    Work from pick lists to prepare and load parts carts for movement to the assembly.

    Accurately accomplish any assigned task with supervision.

    Maintain and turn in daily labor reports.


    -Communicating with team leader and supervisor in all forms of communication.

    -Organizing work area and keeping it clean and safe daily.

    -Supplying own hand tools per published list.

    -Performing other duties as needed/assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, basic concepts of geometry.
    • Ability to learn in a timely manner how to safely and appropriately use power tools and equipment such as band saw, tack welder, manual hand brake, drill, grinder, etc.
    • Ability to learn blueprint reading and interpretation in a timely manner.
    • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to earn and maintain forklift and overhead crane certification.

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree G.E.D. is required.
    • Prior assembly experience and/or training is preferred.
    • Solid work history or school/academic record

    10. Occasional exposure to loud noise in the work environment.

    11. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye and foot protection must be worn daily, and additional PPE such as hearing protection or respirators may be required, depending on work location and assigned tasks.
