Overview

The School of Professional Studies is seeking an Assistant Director, Programs to oversee and develop continuing education programs within the Center for Publishing & Applied Liberal Arts (PALA) division. Duties include curriculum and course development, planning of course offerings, student advisement and conferral tracking, adjunct faculty hiring, evaluation, and promotion, primarily in, but not exclusive to, the subject areas of writing and communications and for the Academy of Lifelong Learning. Market programs primarily through social media platforms to professional associations and prospective students, and monitor reach and engagement. Create, organize, and manage department events related to course offerings and certificates. Establish industry/professional relationships beneficial to the department. Participate in strategic planning initiatives.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years Relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include substantial professional experience in a related area and/or experience developing and marketing programs and supervising instructional staff.

Preferred Experience:
Professional experience in the humanities, writing, and/or translation, or experience in higher education..

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to plan, develop and implement programs and develop retention strategies. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and evaluate programs and instructional staff. Ability to market programs and retain students. Familiarity with instructional technologies including distance learning.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $66,915.00 to USD $86,915.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
