POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the foreperson, grading equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment may include, but is not limited to front-end loaders, bulldozers, motor graders, rollers, and other pieces of excavating equipment.

On the job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with the potential for advancement opportunities.

This position is a full-time seasonal, working April/May through November (weather permitting). This position requires working overtime and some Saturdays. Local and regional travel opportunities are available.

Position Requirements
  • One or more years in operating road or excavating construction equipment is required and/or a technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation, primarily:
    • Front-end loader
    • Bulldozer
    • Motor grader
  • Ability to understand grades from plans, slopes and identify potential conflicts
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), if required
  • Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions
  • Ability to listen and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees
