Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Provides secretarial support to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and performs job duties essential to the needs of faculty, staff and students within the College of Nursing.
  • Assists with State Boards of Nursing, State Boards of Higher Education, Department of Education, and other regulatory and accreditation requirements related to documentation and policies.
  • Organizes student clinical placements and documentation for clinical placements.
  • Communicates with students, faculty, and clinical partners related clinical placements.
  • Organizes preceptor and clinical site rotations and associated paperwork.
  • Prepares correspondence, course materials, reports, brochures, and other documents using a PC.
  • Maintains departmental files and database.
  • Assists graduate faculty in organizing and maintaining student files as requested by the Dean, Associate Dean, and Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs.
  • Takes minutes at meetings and prepares for final distribution.
  • Answers telephones and directs calls.
  • Maintains supervisor’s calendar.
  • Greets and routes visitors.
  • Opens and distributes mail.
  • Makes travel arrangements and prepares travel reimbursement forms.
  • Orders equipment and supplies as requested.
  • Prepares requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Utilizes the Banner Finance and Student Record System to access departmental and student information as needed.
  • Periodically may supervise student assistants to include assigning duties and work.
  • Complies with attendance and timekeeping policies.
  • Arranges, sets up and manages Zoom technology for meetings as assigned.
  • Assists with data entry related to course schedules and faculty assignments in Banner as assigned.
  • Serves as Virtual EMS administrator to assist faculty and administration.
  • Completes other office/secretarial duties as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean, and Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as required.
