What We Are Looking For:

PSE Renewable Energy Resources group specializes in designing fun, challenging, rewarding, and high-profile renewable energy projects. We pride ourselves in striving to be an industry leader for the benefit of our clients and colleagues. We are looking for a well-rounded individual to assist in the delivery of multidisciplinary Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects through their feasibility, pre-construction, and construction phases with a specific focus on the electrical design aspects of projects. We are seeking a creative, intelligent, entrepreneurial, and driven individual who enjoys a fast-paced and challenging environment. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Power System Analysis - Load Flow Analysis, Overcurrent and Protective Device Coordination, Steady State Thermal and Voltage Analysis, Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis, Motor Starting Analysis, Harmonic Analysis, Transient Analysis, Short Circuit, Equipment evaluation, Reactive Power Study, Underground ampacity thermal calculations, Grounding Studies
  • Power System Modelling - PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, SKM, ETAP, CYME and ASPEN software
    Experience with microgrid/DER modeling software such as Homer Energy software suite, Xendee, DER-CAM, or comparable a plus
  • Experience with the electrical aspects of Solar and Battery Energy Storage is a plus
  • Visiting client and project sites to collect data, sometimes via measurements.
  • Team leader, providing professional leadership, mentoring and development, allocation of projects, recruitment, and other leadership activities.
  • Control expenditures and hours within the limitations of the project budget
  • Work cooperatively with other PSE team members to improve our efficiencies and work product.
  • Proactively pursue continued education, training, certifications, and other relevant opportunities to grow professionally within the industry.
  • Employ strong project management with clients and vendors for relationship building.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with Power System Emphasis
  • 5+ years of experience in power system studies
  • PE license or ability to get one within one year of hire


Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of applicable NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, PSCAD, and other power simulation software
  • Project management experience is desired
  • National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge is desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical design and construction
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral), be customer-driven and display teamwork behavior
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and competitive grant funding environment
