AEC Visualization Technician / Graphic Designer

Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a motivated, dependable and driven AEC Visualization Designer to join our Savannah, GA office. This position is responsible for assisting with the production of 3D renderings, exhibits, maps and graphic related materials in both print and digital format. This position is with the Graphics Department but will assist all services within Thomas & Hutton. Some A/E/C services sector industry experience required.
Typical Duties Include:
- Produce accurate base maps and drawings as directed using AutoCAD Civil 3D (current edition), Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
- Create highly legible and aesthetic maps, exhibits and detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications and written/verbal instructions using both computer-drafting software and graphic design software
- Assist in video editing and production
- Produce 3-dimenional renderings and animation
- Commitment to produce graphics that meet Thomas & Hutton standards
Required knowledge, education, and skills:
Education: Minimum of technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience preferably in field related to visual design.
Experience / Skills: 3+ years' experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D software, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign. Experience must be related to the A/E/C industry.
- Demonstrable proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering plans, site plans, and sectional drawing to aid in the development of a 3D model.
- Proficiency in Modeling Software: SketchUp
- Proficiency in Rendering Software: Lumion
- Experience with motion graphic software
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Superior 3D model-building skills
- Experience creating scaled site maps
- Ability to adapt and learn basic GIS or Infraworks skills.
- Proven professional experience translating 2D drawings into 3D models
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Ability to take initiative to complete projects and meet deadlines; often with short time frames.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to work a regular schedule of 730AM - 530PM Mon-Thurs and 730AM - 1130AM Fri with occasional evenings and weekend work
