Position Summary:

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive schedule that integrates all activities required to successfully execute projects. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget and work closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and manage an integrated master schedule for all projects or operations, considering dependencies, constraints, and resource availability.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, department heads, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and milestones.
  3. Identify and assess risks, issues, and conflicts that may impact the schedule, and develop mitigation plans.
  4. Regularly update and maintain the master schedule by incorporating changes, updates, and adjustments as necessary.
  5. Monitor project progress and identify any deviations from the schedule, taking proactive measures to address delays or other issues.
  6. Conduct regular meetings and discussions with project teams to review and analyze project status, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions.
  7. Provide accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate project status, key metrics, and performance indicators to management and stakeholders.
  8. Continuously improve scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  9. Train and mentor project team members on best practices for schedule management and adherence.
  10. Collaborate with procurement and resource management teams to ensure alignment between the schedule and resource allocation.
  11. Occasional Travel required, less than 5% a year.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, highly desired.
  2. Proven experience as a Master Scheduler or similar role, preferably in a project-based, flexible manufacturing environment.
  3. Certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), is highly desirable.
  4. APICS certification in CPIM or CSPC, is highly desirable
  5. Proficient in the use of project management software and Microsoft office including Excel Smartsheets
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules and budgets in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  7. Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  10. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  11. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in maintaining and updating schedules

Competencies:

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify critical paths, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.
  2. Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, to develop and manage schedules.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  4. Exceptional organization and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in maintaining and updating schedules.
  6. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
  8. Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  9. Strong verbal, auditory & written communication skills.
  10. Computer literate, with proficient skills in MS-Office suite of programs.
  11. Team player and leader

Working conditions:

  1. Office environment at manufacturing/warehouse facility.
  2. Travel as requested to remote operations or to customer locations
  3. Will need to be flexible with sitting and standing for periods of time in office and manufacturing/warehouse facility
