About the Opportunity

Responsible for the management of all aspects of the W.B. Mason fleet of 1,800+ company-owned and leased trucks, automobiles and material handling equipment, the Corporate Fleet Manager tracks leases, monitors preventative maintenance/repairs, negotiate contracts, and monitors multiple compliance programs for the company.



Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a comprehensive Commercial Motor Vehicle and Material Handling Equipment preventative maintenance programs for the company fleet.
  • Negotiate with and manage our Corporate Vehicle Lease program.
  • Tracking, reviewing and ensuring that all State, local and federal vehicle inspections are completed at the required intervals for both company owned fleet vehicles as well as our lease partnerships. This includes HUT, and other regulatory tax compliances.
  • Travel as necessary to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies. This will include fleet inspections, warehouse inspections & MHE inspections.
  • Conduct periodic on-site audits of warehouse and transportation safety programs to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies as well as internal and external customers as necessary.
  • Develop and present relevant training to employees as needed.
  • Continually monitor changes to state, local and federal regulations. As these regulations change, work with the Distribution team to update training and orientation accordingly.
  • Managing and Analyzing budgets and expenses related to trucks, repairs, fuel, MHE, and all other aspects of W.B. Mason fleet.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook.
  • Experience with Geo Tab and RydeSmart a plus
  • Strong leadership ability, initiative, analytical skills, and creativity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi task and focus on details
  • Ability to travel as needed



Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant field experience
  • Extensive experience managing all aspects of a large national fleet
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience managing transport operations and safety, warehousing, facility management.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of body shop and vehicular mechanical labor rates, hours, and parts pricing.
  • Must be a strong and effective collaborator and team builder.
  • Working knowledge of the Smith System defensive driving methodology
  • Strong working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and guidelines to include hazardous materials transportation.
  • Experience with and a strong working knowledge of regulatory audits.
