Responsibilities

Basic Purpose

Manages process improvements and change management for processes related to the Finance organization. Executes process improvement opportunities utilizing continuous improvement principles. Ensures improvement projects deliver value through enhanced business outcomes, increased productivity and/or reduced costs and that projects are in compliance with corporate policies, vision and overall strategy. Works with impacted groups to update procedures and controls.

The primary focus of this position for the next 18-24 months will be a large-scale ERP system implementation with the objective of transforming our business to optimize customer and employee experiences. This role is the primary representative for the Controller organization in this company-wide initiative including design, build, testing, implementation and post-implementation activities of the new financial system. Acts as a subject matter expert for the Controller organization for all interfacing processes and systems to ensure a seamless transition from current to future state. Proactively engages with cross-functional teams across NV Energy and affiliates to achieve business and project objectives within the available solutions. Identifies and develops plans for mitigating gaps and risks across the organization. Leads business activities required to support delivery of the initiative (e.g., policy development, data¿gathering or cleansing). Acts as a change champion, facilitating change management plans that support the initiative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing Finance organization processes and recommends and initiates sustainable and repeatable process improvements. Oversees and participates in the development, design and delivery of process improvement projects and participates in cross-functional process improvement project teams ensuring deadlines and objectives are met. (20%)

Acts as a Finance organization subject matter expert for Finance organization components of software implementation initiatives to ensure new systems and technologies adopt and reinforce standard business processes. (30%)

Manages and participates in change management activities by developing strategies and ensuring change management activities, including communication, training and documentation, are completed to ensure risks associated with process change are mitigated. (20%)

Coordinates cross-department information inputs and outputs. Identifies and implements changes to processes to improve the quality, common understanding and utilization of data. (10%)

Identifies and implements process improvements for more efficient processing of reports - regulatory filings, corporate reports, etc. (10%)

Maintains and develops key internal and external relationships in support of strategic Finance initiatives. (10%)

Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in accounting or a related field and 6 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Finance, accounting, budgeting and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Financial reporting processes.
  • Managing interdepartmental projects.
Skills such as:
  • Initiating and establishing objectives, directing and prioritizing resources, and recommending and overseeing development or implementation of processes.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers on project objectives.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including oral and written communication.
  • Perform responsibilities within determined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain positive working relationships within internal and external customers

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $115,900 (Min) to $136,300 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
