Job Description:

The Role:

The Field Applications Engineer supports the promotion and application of existing products into a dynamic and growing industry. Key to this support is a thorough understanding of our products, the industries we serve, and our customers. That understanding is used to drive direct communication between the customer, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and other internal departments. As the customer liaison, you will also investigate new applications for exiting product, as well as drive new product solutions to help solve our customers’ problems. The Chaska area is preferred, but we are flexible to candidate location.

What You'll Do:

• Provides field technical support for application related problems for Entegris products.

o May include product specific training such as repair or welding.

• Generates and/or presents various technical documentation (evaluation reports, analysis, industry studies, Entegris generated data) related to a product or application for a sales or strategic opportunity.

• Provide guidance to the sales force and customers for the “best” product for a given application.

• Supports the Account Management team in the execution of BU product strategy in the field for targeted territories and markets to capture new or maintain existing business.

• Under guidance of Applications Engineering Management and the BU, responsible for product positioning by doing internal and external technical presentations and training

• Participates in regular meetings with the customer, the internal teams (AM, FAE, Sales, BU) to share customer/Entegris feedback, measure progress, drive a solution and/or enhance communication for product evaluations and application issues.

• Maintains a high level of application understanding (including competition, application development and products) to give recommendations on current product issues, future product trends and application demands.

• Technical lead for product installation, evaluation, or qualification projects at customer locations in support of sales opportunities with a particular focus on:

o Prototypes or derivatives products in known or new applications

o Mature products in new applications, critical projects or at new customers

• Develops a high level of technical reputation, intimacy and confidence with both customers and other Entegris employees.

• Collaborates with AM/PM/Marcom to create technical literature, white papers, manuals, datasheets and other related product/application related information.

• Escalation/Problem solving support for Field Service team.

What We Seek:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, but not limited to, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Chemical or Materials Engineering or an equivalent combination of training and experience; or a demonstrated capability to perform the duties of the job.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a multidisciplinary company customer facing role is an advantage.

• Basic mechanical drafting experiences in layout capability. CAD (Solid Works) capability is a plus.

• Knowledge of fluid handling, fluid handling sensing technology (pressure/flow), chemical packaging products, small fluid systems, or chemical processing and related experience.

• Capable traveling with an independent work capability.

• Collaborative, team oriented, strong ability to work well with others, and have a customer service mentality with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to solve and communicate both verbally and written, complex problems, where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.

• Working knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of common manufacturing technologies and parts fabrication techniques.

• Flexibility to adapt to work environment, work force, and customers’ needs.

• Very good proficiency using standard suite of Microsoft Office products.

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and relates process.

• English skills - able to communicate effectively through conversation, oral presentations, and written reports.

• Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and curiosity.

• Positive and consultative demeanor with strong work ethic and the ability to interact with technical and non-technical resources

• Knowledge and experience in safe working practices for both laboratory and wafer manufacturing environments.

• Physical ability as required by the position (if working in a position other than an office worker)
