Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Lead

Job Location: Fort Worth, TX


Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Job Shift: 1st Shift

Description:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead will provide hands-on leadership to department staff in all aspects of receiving inbound product and outbound order fulfillment. Partner with warehouse teams as well as outside vendors to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments. Monitor department performance and communicate challenges and opportunities to management.

Primary Tasks:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely receipt of product
  • Compare BOL and packing lists against product received noting any discrepancies
  • Communicate PO shortages/overages of inbound inventory to the program manager
  • Perform inventory counts, label product and put away merchandise in the appropriate warehouse location
  • Ensure all sales orders are picked and packaged according to established processes. Provide suggestions for further process refinement and efficiency improvements.
  • Communicate with other departments, and utilize WMS and other web-based resources to plan and arrange pickup and delivery of outbound orders.
  • Work with both parcel and freight carriers to obtain shipping quotes and schedule pickups and deliveries
  • Develop positive, productive relationships with coworkers, internal customers and vendor partners
  • Maintain Microsoft Office Suite documents tracking department performance


Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail
  • Adaptable to varying workloads and ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously

Experience:

  • General warehouse experience
  • Working with WMS software

Desired skills:

  • Forklift experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
  • General carpentry skills including the use of power tools, saws etc.; experience building pallets and shipping crates a huge plus but not required
  • Familiarity with setting up parcel and freight shipments
  • Experience working in a 3PL client service environment a plus
