THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD.


The Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Project Coordinator will support the SHeMA contract at Glenn Research Center (GRC) Safety, Mission Assurance Directorate. The SMA Project Coordinator aids the project manager for highly visible and complex programs in identifying and tracking project tasks, activities and products. Coordinates the project schedules and maintains updates. Coordinates review of team products and status of activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the review of Vendor products (DRDs), along with Gateway and other NASA CRs, with Project Configuration Management (CM) to ensure proper SMA review. Distribution of review items as received from Project CM.
  • Track and aggregate SMA comments against all reviewed items; provide weekly summaries of review items received, and comments provided by team
  • Provide SMA Manager, Team, and Contract Safety Officer (CSO) with summary of primary issues and concerns related to reviewed products. Provide summaries of key issues and concerns related to reviewed items
  • Coordinate SMA Team schedule updates in MS Project with SMA Discipline Leads and Scheduling
  • Coordinate SMA items to be included in System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) MBSE model
  • Weekly status report to the SMA Manager; activity update as part of normal weekly reporting requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in technical, scientific, engineering, or related field.
  • Must have 6+ years of recent and related experience.
  • Must have general understanding of SMA disciplines including system safety and risk management.

DESIRED:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience of NASA Safety and Mission Assurance, NASA Quality requirements and practices to support the development and review of facility QA procedures and processes is highly desired.
  • Experience with MS Project application.

WORK LOCATION:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
  • Some travel will be required.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.
  • Must be organized with good time management skills.
  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

SALARY RANGE:

$66,560 - $89,000 Depends on experience.
