Position Summary:
The Department of Art and Design at Arkansas State University invites applications for the full-time tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Programming. Position located in Jonesboro, AR
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include the following:
- Teach undergraduate courses in computer programming, web development, and mobile application development in connection with online BS degree in Digital Technology and Design, such as Front-End Frameworks, Back-End Web Development, Mobile Application Development, and Intermediate to Advanced Level Programming in Python or related language(s)
- The teaching load is 5/5
- May participate in curriculum development as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Preferences:
Experience teaching undergraduate students (can be during degree program) preferred but not required
Demonstrated proficiency in back-end programming languages such as JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, Python, Node.js, Ruby, C#, Java, Kotlin, Swift or related development languages preferred but not required
Demonstrated success and/or aptitude for remote, hybrid, and face to face instruction preferred but not required
Would hire without the above preferences
Minimum Qualifications: An earned Master's Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Mobile Application Development, or a related field
