Job Title: Production Manager

Department: Production

Reports To: Operations Manager

General Overview:

The Production Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, for their designated department of responsibility. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing the work; addressing and resolving problems and complaints, training, motivating, and providing feedback to the employees; Conducting performance appraisals and disciplining employees. This position will be based out of the Catalyst Acoustics Group North Aurora Manufacturing Campus in North Aurora, IL.

This position is based out of North Aurora, IL.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervises the employees responsible for meeting acceptable efficiency and production levels.
  • Interpreting the production schedule and communicating with CAG’s production scheduler daily. This includes daily attendance in production meetings.
  • Ensuring that material is pulled, cut, and staged in the proper order to run down the production line(s) and cells in the most efficient manner.
  • Understand the expected production rates and coach the supervisors when the line is not producing as expected to find bottlenecks and deficiencies to be addressed with equipment and training.
  • Work to cross-train employees inside and across departments to ensure there are back-ups and capacity spike teams to minimize risk exposure of delayed shipments.
  • Eventually be capable of operating all equipment on the line.
  • Coordinate with upstream customer and downstream fabrication activities.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding issues or problems on a job, prior to the deadline and the associated impacts on deadlines.
  • Root cause analysis with regards to production issues arising from quality, material, or scheduling of work orders.
  • Administrative duties for time and attendance.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots issues that arise.
  • Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems.
  • Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to plan effectively, prioritize, and multi-task.
  • General filing and document control.
  • KPI updating and monitoring to address deficiencies

Educational/Experience Requirements:


  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports, logs and training materials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior exceptional work experience with the company preferred.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility

This position will have a base working schedule of Monday to Friday starting from 4am to 6am and ending from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Overtime and extended daily hours may be required depending on production demand. Saturday requirements vary depending on the production facility's capacity and can vary weekly, month to month. The person working in this position will be out on the production floor daily. Always maintain company safety standards regarding required personnel protective equipment usage, and safe working practices.
