About the Role:

Dow Jones is in search of a seasoned Senior Director, Paid Media to spearhead the strategy, management, and optimization of paid media channels for The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and MarketWatch. Reporting directly to the VP of Global Acquisition and Paid Media, this role will oversee all in-house paid media operations aimed at acquiring, engaging, and retaining subscribers globally. Collaboration with various teams across the membership marketing funnel, including Acquisition, Engagement, Retention, Brand, and Product, will be essential. Additionally, the Senior Director will be responsible for leading a team of subscription marketers.

You Will:

  • Lead, develop, and execute acquisition media campaigns across diverse channels to drive growth, leveraging data, technology, and behavioral insights.
  • Effectively manage a multi-million dollar budget across platforms and markets to maximize acquisition volume and audience reach.
  • Analyze and interpret data in collaboration with the Data Insights team to enhance existing campaigns and formulate future strategies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with marketing platforms (e.g., Meta, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, Snap, Reddit) for innovative acquisition opportunities.
  • Foster collaboration between paid and organic media teams.
  • Collaborate with internal partners in Advertising, Newsroom, and Partnerships.
  • Lead a team of subscription marketers, ensuring their growth and development.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking combined with agile execution.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary for engaging with senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.


You Have:
  • 15 years of experience in omni-channel, direct response marketing.
  • Deep expertise in direct response paid and brand media (Digital, Social, Offline) and LTV/CAC ratios.
  • Proficiency in media strategy implementation and optimization.
  • Expertise using marketing technology tools such as Campaign Manager, DV360, ActionIQ, and GA4.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing a team of at least 10.
  • Budget management and/or P&L experience.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to pivot quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and gain support across diverse stakeholders.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $250,000
