CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer (Mid). In this position, you will work with Data Governance, Operations and Engineering teams in analyzing data quality, data interface and data resilience issues related to a large cybersecurity shared services solution. You will work closely with the Cloud Architecture and Operations teams to support the client's mission, priorities, and unique challenges. You will also support the implementation of cyber security COTS offerings focusing on next generation security solutions and technologies.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Define and/or analyze data interface and data quality requirements
• Participate actively in data governance workshops and engagement sessions with stakeholders, technology/product vendors in gathering data and the related API requirements
• Define API requirements for data exchange between the shared services solution portal and external sources/consumers
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline runtime issues and data quality issues
• Drive data quality related metrics and dashboard requirements for visualizing and tracking such metrics
• Validate data based on the data requirements including completeness, compliance to the data model and data currency
• Work with emerging and innovative technologies to develop solutions supporting innovation efforts around data analysis, process improvement, machine learning and other software and systems that support the client's mission.
• Work closely with Level 2 support team in troubleshooting and remediating data quality related issues.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance
• 3+ years of experience in data quality analysis and monitoring
• Experience in writing SQL queries for data extraction
• A thorough understanding of JSON/XML formats
• Experience in APIs and writing data queries using APIs
• Good knowledge of data pipelines including ETL processes and tools
• A good understanding of Data Interface Communication processes and technologies
• Knowledge in Cybersecurity domain and related data models
• Experience in AWS Glue, AWS Athena and AWS QuickSight

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $209,100.00.
