Job Description

Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing. Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Transfusion Medicine Medical Technologist - Quality Control (QC): Position performs all duties of medical technologist assigned to Transfusion Services as well as manages the quality control program. Effectively, investigates process and system problems and identifies & implements solutions. Possesses effective communication skills to facilitate problem resolution. Ensures QC policies and procedures comply with regulatory standards. Oversees the maintenance and quality control of analyzers, irradiator, blood refrigerators and freezers, cell washers and centrifuges to include daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, alarm checks, temperature checks, troubleshooting, and automated temperature monitoring system.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline
