SUMMARY

Perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled duties to repair, rebuild, maintain, and install machinery, building equipment and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work from work orders, verbal instructions, trades training, manuals, blueprints, and drawings to machine and fabricate parts, assemble, or disassemble machines and troubleshoot problems.
  • Operate machine shop equipment to complex and exacting tolerances to meet assigned job requirements.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and rebuild all plant and equipment to exacting specifications.
  • Layout materials for machine guards, parts, conveyors, tanks, shafts and building repairs.
  • Set up and test run equipment for adjustments, improvements, and reductions of down or set up times.
  • Attach electrical power, rewire, or wire parts and panels as needed.
  • Rig, move and install heavy or delicate machinery and equipment.
  • Erect, move and repair walls, fixtures, doors, and floors.
  • Maintain vehicles and material handling trucks. Design jigs, fixtures, and operating stands.
  • Instruct operators and less experienced personnel to operate machines and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Provide mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and building trade practices for maintenance services.
  • Develop bills of materials and parts lists for assigned projects.
  • Operate lathes, millers, grinders, bench equipment, welders, plumbing tools and use precision measuring instruments, power, and hand tools.
  • Refer questionable conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible to prepare and submit records, reports and forms required by company procedures.
  • Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping, and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
  • Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools, and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
  • Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.
  • Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

CW-MNT-100-IN (Equipment Control and Maintenance)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or over three years up and including five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply basic trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
