LTI is seeking a motivated Field Calibration Technician with at least 3 years of prior calibration experience. This is a field-based role that will require traveling to customer sites performing calibrations, inspections, and other testing on test equipment and instrumentation. A Day in the Life of a Field Calibration Technician

  • Performs all types of metrology and dimensional inspections, in-house and on site at customer facilities as necessary, to meet scheduling requirements as required/dictated through scheduling requirements.
  • Types of instruments may include hardness testers, optical comparators, microscopes, surface plates, hand tools, balances, laser micrometers, ULM's, electrical, and temperature instrumentation.
  • Ensures that all applicable and required specifications and procedures are followed, insuring accuracy and compliance to test requirements for each job.
  • Ensures that all test equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any tests.
  • Reviews and approves calibration and inspection results, consulting with Metrology Manager/Supervisor, as necessary.
  • Ensures that test results are input into LabMan and/or other computer programs accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Requisitions departmental supplies and materials through the Metrology Manager/Supervisor.
  • Develops new or improves existing techniques and procedures for the inspection and calibration of products, as required, to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Maintains assigned work area(s) and ensures that the overall department is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
  • Understands, complies with, and promotes LTI's QA Program at all times.
  • Seeks clarification when job specifications or directions are unclear.
  • Assists Sales/Customer Service staff with customer or job-related inquiries, as requested.
  • Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are adhered to at all times and that personal protective equipment is utilized, as required.
  • Attends technical training programs or seminars as requested or required.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Metrology Manager/Supervisor. (ex. Scheduled maintenance of field van)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of calibration experience.
  • Experience with standard dimensional laboratory equipment; including the use of mechanical measuring tools required.
  • Basic Microsoft Skills
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.


The work hours are Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. *Must be able to travel to customer sites (125 radius from Hatfield, PA), 3-5 days per week with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
