As a QC Lab Technician, Entry Level, working onsite in Grand Haven, MI. In this role, you will validate finished good properties of wet samples that come into QC and prepare those samples for spray testing. You are responsible for property testing that is reported to the customer and is important for accurate performance of the coating.

Responsibilities:

  • Take samples of products and perform wet property testing; i.e. viscosity, pH and resistivity and similar testing.
  • Reduction of batch samples for spray-outs
  • Hand spray panels for defect analysis
  • Low level analytical testing of intermediates
  • Data Collection, Reporting, and Analysis
  • Communicate timely with other team members, stakeholders, and leadership
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Conduct yourself in all manner with safety in mind, follow safety protocols, where needed wear appropriate PPE, and report any safety issues immediately.


Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous Quality Control experience is preferred.
  • Experience with paint/coating testing is preferred.
  • Basic chemistry course, good math skills, be detail oriented.
  • Use basic measuring tools such as used in a lab such as: Micrometers, calipers, pipette, dippers, tubes, or other apparatus.
  • Good computer skills to record information in the documentation and Excel.
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift: M,T,W,Th 8pm-630am with OT on Fridays as needed/when available.
