Job Description
The selected candidate will conduct training and testing of the installed Radio Communications Systems on various classes of US Navy ships. Must have an in-depth knowledge of US Navy communications protocols, applications, and equipment/system set-up and troubleshooting procedures. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team conducting testing of equipment/systems and crew proficiency in operation of shipboard communications systems.

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $21.25/hr.

This position is located on the Eastern coast of the Sunshine State in Jacksonville, Florida. There is no relocation assistance available for this position.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Jacksonville, Florida or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
US Navy communication systems experience
US Navy shipboard experience
US Navy ET or IT
High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in electronics or completion of vocational technical training in electronics
Ability to read, understand, interpret, and modify system drawings, wire list, manufacturing procedure, or any other required technical documents
Ability to perform and validate precise measurements using multimeter and other electronic devices
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to use basic hand tools
Ability to lift 30 pounds
Ability to differentiate colors
Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable fabrication training

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledge of:
HF Systems (HFRG, AN/URT-23(V), HFDAG)
UHF LOS (AN/WSC-3(V), DMR)
UHF SATCOM/DAMA
Switching Systems (SA-2112(V), TVS)
Antenna System (OE-82, OE-570, UHF/VHF, HF)

COMSOT/CSSQT experience
Satellite LINK operational experience
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime Training (OSHA 1915) certification

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
