The right candidate will have 4 years of experience, and exposure to maritime as well as civil litigation matters. Maritime Attorney Responsibilities Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in maritime law matters, including vessel transactions, maritime contracts, admiralty law, and marine insurance Handle a variety of civil litigation cases, including those related to maritime disputes, personal injury claims, property damage, and environmental issues Conduct legal research and analysis to advise clients on the interpretation and application of maritime laws, regulations, and precedents Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and maritime-related documents Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings, advocating for their interests in maritime and civil litigation matters Manage case files, deadlines, and court appearances, ensuring timely and effective resolution of legal matters Collaborate with clients, co-counsel, experts, and other stakeholders to develop and execute litigation strategies and case resolutions Provide strategic advice and risk assessment to clients regarding potential legal disputes, liabilities, and compliance issues in the maritime industry Stay updated on developments in maritime law, civil procedure, and relevant legal precedents, and integrate new knowledge into legal strategies and client adviceBuild and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and delivering high-quality legal services Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, networking events, and industry conferences to attract new clients and expand the firm's maritime law practice Uphold ethical standards and professionalism in all interactions and representations, maintaining the firm's reputation for excellence and integrity. Maritime Attorney Position Requirements A JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials (top 25% required) 4 years of litigation experience A membership to the Texas bar in good standing
