Description

Mayvin is seeking a Senior Systems Security Engineer to help our DHS CWMD client with application of systems security within its acquisition programs. The position will work with both information security and acquisition program professionals to translate each other’s needs, convey the advantages and benefits of systems security, and help ensure proper coordination early in program lifecycles.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Secret Clearance, plus DHS background investigation

Responsibilities:

  • Define customer needs, security protection requirements including cyber resiliency needed to reduce mission / business / organizational risk to an acceptable level
  • Assist with achieving required security functionality early in the systems’ development lifecycle, documenting requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of regulations and policies related to Enterprise Architecture, and Information Security, including NIST (SP) 800-160 Volumes 1 and 2, NIST SP 800-161, DHS Information Technology Strategy, DHS Zero Trust Strategy in designing secure solutions
  • Conduct design, synthesis, and system validation while considering the goals of the acquisition program
  • Effectively communicate technical details verbally and in writing to people of varying technical backgrounds



Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field of study from a fully accredited institution. (Advanced degree preferred but not required)
  • Must have a minimum of 18 years of related experience (or 13 with a Masters degree), which may include systems security, cyber / information security, systems engineering, and government acquisition programs
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to support and manage multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Mastery in use of personal computers with extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite; including familiarity with web-based applications such as Microsoft Teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An understanding of DHS/CBP processes and organizational structure is highly desirable
  • Experience with government acquisition process preferred
