Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Midstream Engineering Analyst. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Midstream Engineering Manager.
The Midstream Engineering Analyst will receive and interpret data from external midstream service providers and internal departments who work closely with the Marketing and Midstream group. Once the analyses are complete, the Midstream Engineering Analyst will ensure that the data is communicated clearly and on time to those who need it. Some of these analyses will have recurring deadlines (monthly, quarterly) and some will be ad hoc with short notice.
The data provided by the Midstream Engineering Analyst is critical to decision making throughout Ascent. This analyst will work closely with senior members of the Midstream and Marketing team as well as peers in other departments. Some of the data will be presented directly to senior management and external midstream service providers. This data will also l be used to feed internal financial, operational, and engineering models. Over time, the Midstream Engineering Analyst may run some of these models directly.
Attention to detail and diligence to finish long, complex tasks will be key to success in this role. It is also crucial that this analyst be able to maintain professional and constructive communication if tasks become stressful.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and/or maintain multiple spreadsheets and software tools used in the support of ongoing Midstream and Marketing department needs by incorporating advanced analytical methods and modeling techniques into output deliverables
  • Initiate process improvement recommendations while contributing to standardization, repeatability and automation of processes to ensure on-going timely delivery of high-quality results
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate midstream capacity, well connect schedules, and other key commercial data
  • Prepare and send notices to third party Midstream providers for ROW acquisition, well connects, etc.
  • Reconcile GP&T invoices, highlight any discrepancies, and submit for payment

Minimum Requirements:
  • Able to work successfully in a team environment
  • Able to work successfully in an office environment with moderate to heavy daily pressure to meet deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and active listening when communicating with co-workers
  • Able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to prioritize and schedule tasks, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate good organizational skills
  • Able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred:
  • Experience with Power BI, Snowflake and Spotfire
  • Experience with oil and gas reserves and Enersight software a plus
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field, mathematics or energy management preferred or minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Midstream and Marketing or related experience in oil and gas industry
