About the role:

This position has the principal goal of generating new and innovative design solutions for tools and precision stamping dies in our Cudahy, WI operation. Our precision stampings are produced from fine metal foils utilized primarily in the electrical and electronics industries. This includes developing complex mechanical concepts to answer customer proposal requests then maturing the designs using rigorous requirements management, 3D modeling, and process development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all Lucas Milhaupt employees.

• Manage stamping die tool design from product specification review to tool signoff

• CNC programing utilizing Cam Works or Master Cam

• Review concepts to align function and standards ensuring precise high-quality tool designs

• Ensure industry standards and best practices are followed and met throughout design process

• Support engineering changes to existing tools

• Incorporate manufacturability feedback into designs to streamline machining and assembly of tools

• Coordinate data management to identify necessary changes to tool designs to support product changes

• Provide input for process improvements for future projects

• Utilize strong time management to ensure project timelines are met

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Associates Degree or higher in Engineering (Bachelor's preferred).

• Minimum four (4) years' engineering experience in tooling and stamping design.

• Minimum two (2) years' experience CNC machining using Cam Works or Mastercam.

• Experience with Six Sigma Design Tools preferred.

• Experience translating customer needs into mechanical designs resulting in tools & dies producing products within tight tolerances.

• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members.

• Self-starter capable of proactively assessing situations, identifying required actions, and recommending course of action in a timely manner.

• Highly organized, can multi-task and independently manage projects.

• Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, regulations, and practices.

• Demonstrated project management skills, attention to detail and consistent follow-up.

• Excellent PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite.

• Positive, can-do attitude and ability to collaborate with others.
