JOB SUMMARY:
This data scientist position will require a collaborative leader skilled in building analytics and reporting solutions using R/Shiny. Commitment to data integrity, the capability to solve highly analytical problems, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once are critical for this position.
ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop R/shiny applications to solve data science and business analytics challenges
- Partner with various stakeholders to translate business requirements to technical specifications
- Establish software engineering best practices and provide technical training to team members
- Partner with multiple stakeholders including clients, new product development, data engineers and data scientists to develop scalable solutions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computing tools and help grow the in-house knowledge base of the full stack data science development
QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering or related field of study
- Experience in modularized code in Shiny app development
- 5+ years of R data cleaning, analysis, model building experience
- 5+ years of writing robust, maintainable, and scalable code in Shiny app development
- 2+ years of SQL experience
- Ability to effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Masters degree in computer science, software engineering or related field of study
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- 10+ years of R data cleaning, analysis, model building experience
- 10+ years of writing robust, maintainable, and scalable code in Shiny app development
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Automotive, chemistry/chemical, or petroleum additive related academic background or work experience
