Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a results-oriented and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at our Distribution Center (DC) in Lodi, California. Salary Range

$66,560-$70,000 per year; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. Full-time. Must be available to work the swing shift (3pm-12am). This position is eligible for the annual profit-sharing bonus program.

The Distribution Center is a 1.5m sq. ft. packaging, labeling and distribution facility with approximately 400 employees. The DC operation supports both retail and foodservice customers and labels, cases, and ships nationwide approximately fifty (50) million cases every year. Reporting to the Production Manager, this exempt level position manages and directs all functions within a designated production area. Incumbent will direct label and case production and/or shipping operation activities in a multi-shift facility, provide supervisory direction for warehouse personnel and manage personnel performance including training and accountability within the department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train employees in company policies, safety, sanitation protocol, quality, and production procedures/standards.
  • Consult with Production Manager and Plant Manager regarding the production schedule and performance sheets. Adjust plans accordingly and ensure staffing levels meet production schedules.
  • Document daily production records; investigate and report all production shortages, overages, and losses.
  • Manage change to procedures and/or processes resulting from changes in personnel, equipment, line modifications, installations, customer specifications, etc.
  • Develop and create new methods to achieve positive production results using effective leadership practices.
  • Administer and maintain company policies, union contract work rules, ensure employees are following all SOPs, General Manufacturing Practices, and plant safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Operations Management or related field; and/or 2+ years management experience in production/manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, experience, or skills with knowledge of label and casing equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Computer skills required with experience in Microsoft Office tools and Enterprise Resource Planning systems, preferably in a union environment.
  • Demonstrates good leadership skills and an ability to work effectively with others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent physical activity includes sitting, walking, using a keyboard, touching, hearing, and speaking.
  • Moderate physical activity includes standing, stooping, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
