Title: Technical Support Specialist

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN (Hybrid)

Salary: 75,000 - 100,000

This role will involve working with field staff to help them solve problems with equipment, providing regional on-site equipment training support, researching new and enhancing existing products all while collaborating with Kurita’s Field Sales Teams. The Technical Support Specialist also monitors and track field equipment, provides critical feedback for future development of multiple types of systems and platforms, and helps develop process and procedures revolving around these systems. Moreover, the Technical Support Specialist needs to work directly with sales and technical representatives to create and support written documentation as required.

To succeed in this role, the Technical Support Specialist needs to work independently and take initiative to solve problems, learn new skills, and communicate effectively. The Technical Support Specialist should be able to manage their own time and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance. The Technical Support Specialist should also be adaptable and flexible to changing situations and customer needs.



Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical front line support person for standard/custom equipment, including troubleshooting of equipment such as RO’s, Softeners, Filters, etc. and helping to identify the root cause of the issue.
  • Performing site evaluation surveys which includes traveling to customer sites to determine process improvements and supporting quoting.
  • Inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of capital skidded equipment including controls checkouts and functionality testing.
  • Regional on-site equipment training support for our Field Sales Team including developing technical training programs for new sales representatives.
  • Helping to further develop and improve standard product offerings with support from our Engineering and Design team.
  • Helping to develop on produce OMM’s and SOP’s for custom equipment with support from Engineering team.
  • Helping to identify and support customer requests for controls upgrades including quoting and driving them through implementation and completion.
  • Supporting equipment contracts with quarterly site visits to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.

Performance of other duties as assigned by manager.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in technical program, engineering related, or 5-7 years on equipment used in water treatment or industrial equipment experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Successful track record to remain organized and communicate effectively, while prioritizing multiple opportunities and demands in a rapidly evolving sales environment.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with all levels in a sales organization, vendors and customers.
