STRUCTURAL ENGINEER, E.I. OR P.E. SUMMARY: Plans, designs, and directs structural engineering projects such as commercial and industrial both locally and across the country.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Perform industrial structural engineering duties in planning and design under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional engineer. Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria within rules, regulations, and operating procedures. Assist with preparation of construction plans, technical specifications, bidding documents, and applicable reports. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Risa, or STAAD, as applicable would be beneficial. Attend field inspections with engineers as needed. A licensed professional engineer is preferred but not mandatory.


SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering with emphasis in the area of structural engineering. Two to three years of experience is preferred. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a team of other engineers and technicians.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Engineer Intern (EI) license, professional licensed engineer or have graduated from approved engineering program and able to become licensed in the state of Arkansas.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and publication articles that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematic concepts such as algebraic functions and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database; Design; Internet; Project Management; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid driver license and be able to travel up to 30% of the time.
