Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for performing all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance on equipment in the plant as assigned by Supervisor. Rebuild equipment; move machines; install racks, traps, etc. Re-brick or insulate high temperature kilns. Machine parts such as collars, shafts, etc. Do carpentry, sheet metal, plumbing, all welding, etc., as required. Keep records. Will have knowledge in power tools such as lathe, milling machine, drill press, surface grinder, hand saw, etc. Forming and welding equipment. Measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, Vernier gauges, etc. Hand tools common to the mechanical trade. The Mechanic would be responsible for producing product, inspecting using typical measuring equipment, and recording data on all required documents

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance on equipment in the plant as directed.
  • Analyze equipment problems and take corrective action.
  • Overhaul equipment as necessary, replacing broken or worn parts, such as bearings, bushings, gears, pulleys, etc.
  • Re-brick or insulate high temperature kilns.
  • Use welding equipment for construction and repair or equipment.
  • Read and correctly interpret mechanical drawings and sketches.
  • Recommend and plan and carry out preventative maintenance schedules for equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records of equipment and fill out required forms.
  • Move equipment, build storage racks, etc. as directed.
  • Help train new employees and direct other less skilled maintenance men as required.
  • Perform each operation in strict adherence to all prevailing safety regulations.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform all other minor duties within reason as required.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting (machine controls, building wiring and lighting).
  • Ensure the product is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, team lead, or the production manager
Experience:
  • Experience performing installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machinery.
  • Experience performing installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial furnaces.
  • Experience performing installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building and/or machinery electrical power supply system wiring and components in an industrial setting.
  • Experience performing structural repair quality welding on facilities and/or manufacturing equipment.

Salary range: $39.19 to $44.42 per hour
