Job Description

Miller Electric Mfg. - Smith Equipment is looking for a candidate who will be responsible for machining parts. This is a fast-paced position operating multiple machines simultaneously on the shift. Candidate will need to ensure efficient machine operation to produce quality products while working safely and meeting delivery expectations to our customers.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety rules and ensuring that proper safety equipment is used.
  • Set-up and operate CNC and conventional machines and grinders. Monitor life of tooling and sharpen tools.
  • Create and edit CNC programs.
  • Know inspection tools and how to use them to ensure parts meet print specifications and finishes.
  • Perform inspections, tests, and audits on processes, products, and components.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties.
  • Capable of running multiple machines


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A Technical Certificate or an Associate Degree in a Machine Tool program or 5-7 years of previous experience is required
  • 1 year of experience with mathematics including trigonometry, drawings and measuring devices required.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including geometric tolerancing.
  • Position requires a team player, a self-starter with good communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift and can lift 50lbs.
