Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Machinist/Die Repair -3rd Shift. The core hours are 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.46 per hour.

What you'll do:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to set up and operate machine tools for outlet box construction.
• Perform precision machining operations, including cutting, drilling, grinding, milling and turning to fabricate parts and components.
• Inspect and measure machined components to ensure they meet precise specifications
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on dies including disassembling, diagnosing faults, and performing intricate repairs.
• Specialize in the repair of progressive and compound dies, ensuring they function efficiently and effectively.
• Modify and adjust dies for new product specifications and enhancements
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with dies to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules
• Implement and follow rigorous safety standards and protocols, particularly in handling heavy machinery and sharp tools

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Ability to machine and construct tooling to drawing specifications to meet production need
• Ability to read, alter CAD drawings and blueprints
• Ability to use manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc. to fabricate process equipment
• Familiarity with machining a variety of tool steel material and including D2, A2, and copper.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree related to Tool and Machining or 2 years of machining experience.
• Experience in building die tooling for stamping/manufacturing processes.
• Welding TIG/MIG experience
• Familiarity with steel heat treating process
