Position Summary:

Division wide role providing project management and leadership to the Tank and Facility inspection/repair programs. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Contractors, and Operations personnel to ensure that projects are completed in a manner that adheres to Plains’ policy, procedures, and core values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for budgeting, scoping, bidding, project management, tracking of cost/forecast, and executing the API 653 tank program.
  • Ensure compliance with PAA/PMC safety & contractor expectations.
  • Responsible for tank inspection due dates and preplanning through Maximo work order system.
  • Timely communications to the appropriate group for applicable permits and government notifications prior to project startup.
  • Effectively communicate with applicable stakeholders to minimize downtime and work disruption.
  • Develop and execute repair plans based on inspections in accordance with the applicable codes and PAA integrity recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and support to field personnel in support of routine maintenance on tanks.
  • Oversee facility integrity management (FIMP) and facility release prevention projects (FRPP).
  • Work with operations group to enhance and strengthen the facility inspection program to provide consistency and best practices.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely documentation of project records, pre/post inspection and ensure regulatory compliance conformance.
  • Travel to field locations is required and estimated to be 30% of time. Locations include Wyoming, Arizona, Montana, North Dakota, Colorado, and California.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred 5 + years of experience in operations, construction, or engineering in pipeline or terminals.
  • Well organized, self-motivated and safety oriented.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • US Passport or ability to acquire one.
  • Possess good computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including communications, planning, coordinating, budgeting, and managing others.
  • Knowledge of industry codes such as API 650, API 653, 49 CFR part 195.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A Testing #Plains
