Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing leader to oversee and manage our dairy processing facility and team in South Edmeston, NY. The ideal candidate will drive performance through effective leadership, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader to make a significant impact on our processing operations and contribute to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee associated sub departments within Processing: Milk Receiving, Milk Separation, Pasteurization and yogurt batching, yogurt separation, cream processing, whey/RO processing, and CIP.
  • Manage process flow through all aspects of schedule: product inventory, equipment run time and efficiency, sanitation.
  • Lead and mentor processing team members to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with all cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Planning to ensure seamless coordination and execution of business needs.
  • Be heavily involved in weekly and daily planning to ensure Processing is producing to schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, environmental, safety, and working conditions.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor and analyze key performance metrics related to processing operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on processing performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement to senior management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize processing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
  • Use root cause analysis tools to identify preventative and corrective actions to address non-conformances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 5+ years of experience in operations management.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work successfully with diverse populations, promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of business acumen to understand how manufacturing operations impact overall company success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and optimize processing operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.

Compensation Range: $104,000.00 - $156,000.00, plus bonus.
