Overview


CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master to join the team in Charleston, SC-*this contingent position is remote! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Scrum Master to join our team and support our Marine Corps customer. This comprehensive endeavor requires meticulous planning, coordinated efforts, and adept management. This team is broken out into three primary teams, each integral to the project's success.

Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.


Responsibilities


Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

  • Facilitate Agile Processes: Act as a servant-leader to facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for all three teams involved in the project.
  • Ensure Team Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication within and across the Infrastructure Team, Data Ingestion Team, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and priorities.
  • Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and address impediments that hinder the progress of the teams, escalating issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Empowerment and Accountability: Empower teams to self-organize and make decisions while holding them accountable for their commitments and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating regular retrospectives and implementing action items to enhance team performance and processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure their requirements are effectively communicated and prioritized within the teams.
  • Coach and Mentor: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members on Agile principles, practices, and methodologies.

Qualifications


Required Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile leadership role, preferably in a software development or data-related project environment.
  • Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with the ability to address issues in a timely manner to ensure project success.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, requirements, and environments while maintaining focus on delivering value to the project.
  • Agile Methodology: Working knowledge of agile methodologies, techniques, and frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban to deliver solutions effectively.

  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership and management experience.

  • Project Management Skills: Excellent people and project management skills.

  • Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Education: BS Degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Computer /Software Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science from an accredited College or University.

    Experience: Six (6) years of experience in DoD C4ISR systems, or information technologies to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements. Three (3) years of technical experience in support of DoD C4ISR systems, or information technologies. Experience may be achieved simultaneously OR-

    • Education: Technical training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, and Supply Chain related scientific or technical discipline or 10 years of Marine Corps experience in Maintenance, Communications, Logistics, or in the Retail Supply and Organizational Supply field preferably.

      Experience: Twelve (12) years of hands-on experience with a USMC supply, maintenance or logistics IT system, GCSS-MC, to include

      three (3) of the following five (5) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and/or public service (e.g., federal, state, or local) leadership in Defense Acquisitions University Level I or II (Life Cycle Logistics or Program Management) and experience with Major Automated Information System (MAIS).
