Responsibilities

Trace Systems is seeking a cleared Network Engineering Lead to supervise and manage a team of subject matter experts in the design, configuration, implementation, operational management, and troubleshooting of the Enterprise Network on-site at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to the following:

  • Provide enterprise compliance analysis, compliance assessments of network devices, network applications, and network operating systems.
  • Provide and direct policy guidance and standardization to catalog, regulate, and control the use and management of IP protocols, data services, and associated ports for Army information systems and networks.
  • Maintain and manage network infrastructure for an Integrated Test Environment Facility (ITEF).
  • Support the Joint Management System (JMS), an out of band management system for the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) construct that resides on the Joint Management Network (JMN).
  • Maintain and manage the Network and Application Performance Monitoring (NAPM) system.
  • Maintain and manage 802.1x, Network access control (NAC), and Comply to Connect (C2C) frameworks.
  • Maintain and manage the Network Management System (NMS).
  • Maintain and manage Network Transport and Security Architectures to include JRSS, the Army’s Top Level Architecture (TLA), Zero Trust, Software Defined Wide Area Networks, and commercial transport services.
  • Perform analysis of the Department of Defense (DoD) Information Network (DoDIN) to determine performance and capacity degradation and document findings in monthly Proactive Network Analysis Reports.
  • Recommend network modifications including areas such as routing, switching, firewall configurations, as well as circuit transport modifications needed for optimal performance.
  • Perform analysis during network outages to determine restoral fix actions. Recommend and document needed configuration changes in Network Outage and Restoration Reports using the Army’s trouble ticketing system.


Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of deep knowledge and hands on experience with the following network concepts and technologies:
    • Leading large teams (100+) of multidisciplined IT subject matter experts (SME).
    • Network common infrastructure, technologies, security, troubleshooting, and tools.
    • Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) Management (PPSM).
    • TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements.
    • 802.1x, NAC, and C2C services.
    • Network monitoring tools such DX Spectrum, DX Performance Manager, DX Network Flow Analysis, Privileged Access Manager, CA Virtual Network Assurance, CA Business Intelligence, and DX Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations.
    • Software Defined Networking and Network Functions Virtualization.
    • Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and multiprotocol label switching (MPLS).
    • Routing Protocols to include Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
    • Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Voice of IP (VoIP), EoIP, and Wireless Technologies.
    • UNIX, LINUX, Domain Name Service (DNS), IPv4 and IPv6.
    • DNS Security (DNSSEC), Trinzic Infoblox, Safenet, and F5.
    • VMWare NSX-T solutions and associated networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of the following concepts and technologies:
    • Windows Desktop, Windows Server, or RedHat Linux.
    • Virtualization technologies and software, such as VMWare or Hyper-V.
    • Cloud technologies, such as Intune, Azure, and Amazon Cloud Services.
    • Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • ITIL processes such as Change, Release, and Configuration Management.
  • IAT Level III certification (CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISSP, etc.)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher, or Juniper Networks Certification Program (JNCP) JNCIA-Junos or higher.
  • Current ITIL V4 Foundations or higher.
  • An active, in-scope US Government issued Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
