Job Summary:

Compass Systems Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician II with EMP Technician experience. Technician should have the ability to apply engineering techniques, principles and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment of facilities.


Essential Job Functions:

Experience in the following areas of responsibilities is desired:

  • Operates, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains simulation/high voltage equipment and components used to perform electromagnetic pulse, lightning, electro-static discharge, p-static, or similar phenomena test and evaluation.
  • Operates and maintains diagnostic and data collection systems used to monitor electromagnetic pulse, lightning, electro-static discharge, p-static systems performance.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, analyzing, developing, and helping prepare engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures.
  • Organizes, analyzes and prepares reports or presentations of technical data and information.
  • Plans and performs tests and evaluations of system equipment or components.
  • Compiles, processes, reduces, or analyzes test data and results. Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
Requirements:

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High school graduation or equivalency certification and successful completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, or engineering technology; or, completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
  • A total of at least 4 years of experience in performing the foregoing functions and at least 2 years of the foregoing total experience shall have consisted of performing engineering/technical functions.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level. Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
