POSITION SUMMARY

The VFD Associate Product Manager will support the VFD and Motors product portfolio in all aspects of product lifecycle management, while supporting management plans to achieve organizational sales and profit goals. You will develop an in-depth understanding of customer problems and align the organization around creating desirable outcomes for customers and the business in the Americas. You are expected to work independently to drive assigned projects all the way to successful completion, delivering impact at scale, and influencing cross function teams without direct authority.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

· Assist in the creation of MEAU’s VFD product vision and strategy with emphasis on high-performance, high-value robots designed to address small to medium payload applications and when combined with the rest of MEAU’s automation product portfolio (Robot, PLC, servo, HMI, VFD, etc.)

· Implement all activities associated with the complete product lifecycle, including development, launch, growth, maturity, and sunset, including defining pricing, product messaging, training, certification, and regulatory requirements, product distribution, etc.

· Provide coordination and logistical support to the product management and development team throughout the development cycle.

· Collect general market and customer-specific feedback to understand current customer issues and requests.

- Identify existing gaps, optimizations and future opportunities for products and identify short- and long-term resolutions.

· Perform competitive research and pricing analysis to provide perspective to the team and product management leaders to inform insights and decision.

· Work closely with the Product Marketing team on product positioning, value proposition and market segmentation to ensure successful product launches.

· Collaborate with Product Marketing & Marketing Communications to create collaterals such as product presentations, overviews, selection guides, sales brief, manage web content, etc., and ensure content is aligned with product messaging and value proposition.

· Create ad-hoc reports to help management analyze the overall health of the product portfolio and make data driven decisions. Interpret data to identify actionable insights.

· Influence SSG business unit’s and parent company’s actions by leveraging personal relationships, persuasive arguments, and data driven analysis producing favorable outcomes that allow MEAU to effectively compete in the Americas.

· Monitor multiple cross-functional projects and handle all stakeholders to ensure activities are on track.

- Communicate goals, identify risks and implement countermeasures.

- Proactively remove challenges and escalate as appropriate to ensure goals are met.

· Help Distributors and Partners with joint activities and support the sales team with customer visits and presentations.

· Manage associated documentation in MEAU website and keep current the revisions of each through the use of SharePoint.

· May be required to follow other job-related instructions and perform additional duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

· Up to 25% travel, primarily within the United States; with occasional travel to Japan.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business

· Effective listening, negotiation, and consensus building skills.

· Excellent writing, oral, and presentation skills.

· Computer Skills/Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
