Description:

Ensure strategic initiatives are executed in an effective and timely manner according to project management principles. Guide and instruct all members of individual project teams in their particular responsibilities, communicate updates to Senior Management and escalate issues as needed to ensure projects remain on schedule.

Essential Functions

  • Manage a wide variety of projects and programs, such as new branch construction, facilities renovations, system conversions, technology implementations, new product deployments, operational efficiency initiatives, projects resulting from acquisitions, and compliance directives.
  • Lead project teams and meetings with the objective of completing projects on-time, on-budget, and achieving specific business objectives.
  • Work with project owner to advise, develop overall project plans, including the assignment of responsibilities and the establishment of realistic timeframes for project completion.
  • Direct, motivate, build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with all managers, project team members, and stakeholders, including those external to the organization, in order to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Work with project owner to manage and communicate with vendors to ensure that they are fulfilling the contractual services in accordance with agreements.
  • Lead cross functional teams, administer project budgets, assist project owners in the development project risk analyses and plans, and oversee complete project life cycles.
  • Provide organizational and process improvement recommendations to senior management and minimize bank exposure and risk across multiple projects; anticipate and recognize business needs and project risks and propose alternate solutions; develop plans for implementation while lending expertise to internal teams and task forces.
  • Collaborate and consult with senior management project sponsor and departmental project owner on project goals, objectives, timeline, risks and status throughout the project life cycle.
  • Coordinate updates to individual project plans and meeting minutes in accordance with bank project management practice.
  • Compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations that affect the performance of essential responsibilities of the position.
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in the banking industry, managing either people or processes.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and job responsibilities simultaneously.
  • At least 6 months project management experience within the banking industry preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, etc., in writing, in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with others to identify problems, provide advice and develop agreeable solutions.
  • Proven experience in motivating and leading groups to accomplish goals.
  • Proven skills in organizing, initiating, structuring, and carrying out steps to complete projects and tasks.
  • Familiar with project management and/or change management.
  • Ability to utilize various software and programs essential to project management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple people, situation, and/or assignments and meet deadlines. This position requires managing multiple projects simultaneously.
